Humane Society of Missouri receives custody of dogs in Stoddard County dog fighting case

Humane Society of Missouri increases reward to $4,200 for information about dogs thrown from Union Blvd. overpass

Due to the generosity of an anonymous donor, the Humane Society of Missouri has increased the reward to $3,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who threw a Pit Bull and another large dog from the Union Blvd. overpass on January 16.

Humane Society of Missouri seizes 26 dogs from Stoddard County dog fighting situation
October 21, 2007
Working in cooperation with the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, early this morning the Humane Society of Missouri seized 25 pit bulls and one beagle from an organized dog fight outside Dexter, Missouri. Acting on a tip, the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department issued a warrant to search for and seize materials and animals related to dog fighting. The Humane Society team consisted of six experienced animal abuse investigators.

Debbie Hill reported that the animals being temporarily housed in the Humane Society’s Animal Rescue Trailer are starting to go back home to their families as of yesterday. In total, forty-four animals were assisted in and around Big Lake.

Humane Society of Missouri Deploys To Chillicothe, Mo. to Help Animal Shelter Threatened by Flood

A five-member Humane Society of Missouri Disaster Rescue Team is assisting in the relocation of about 60 dogs and several cats from a shelter which currently is surrounded by water from recent flooding of the Missouri River. The shelter serves as the Chillicothe humane society and animal control facility.

Hurricane Rescue Diaries
